Blocked ear checker
Answer a few quick questions to help decide whether micro suction, an ear health check, a phone call or medical advice may be the safest next step.
Did the hearing change suddenly, especially in one ear?
Sudden hearing changes should be checked urgently rather than treated as simple wax.
Do you have ear pain, discharge, bleeding, fever or severe dizziness?
These symptoms can suggest infection or another concern that may need medical advice first.
Have you had recent ear surgery, a known perforated eardrum, or been told not to use drops?
Micro suction may still be possible for some patients, but it is best to contact us before booking.
Does it feel blocked, full or muffled, or have you been told there is wax?
Blocked, full or muffled ears are common reasons people book an ear check or micro suction.
Are your hearing aids whistling, blocked or not sounding as clear as usual?
Wax can interfere with hearing aids, but we can check the ears before treatment.
Can you safely use olive oil or EAROL drops for 3-5 days before an appointment?
Softening drops can make wax removal easier, unless you have been advised not to use them.
